Five pieces of advice I wish I had received when I started my blog

Post by jrine01 »

I'm not a big fan of the typical 10 tips for, 10 mistakes that, etc. posts, because most of them only seek to gain exposure (I'd like to see the data regarding conversions, visit times, bounce rate, etc. etc.) and the advice doesn't add much value. But hey, I'm sure more than one person will find them useful, so I won't go on about it.
But it is true that you can find interesting things in some of them in the form of advice, useful websites, applications, etc. That's why I'm going to try to make a short and as useful as possible list of advice for beginner bloggers or people who are thinking of creating one.

The first thing is to break that mental barrier that we all have before starting.
You must start by having a clear idea (it doesn't have to be 100% defined) of the topic you want to write about. Once you have that, stop thinking about it and start now. Not next indonesian phone number week or when something happens . Go to WordPress , create your own blog and write the first post. It's free and takes 10 minutes.

You'll have time to choose the design you like the most, the photo and I don't know how many other things. All accessories . The important thing is that you start writing.

It's normal that during the first few weeks the direction of the blog changes, that you write low-quality posts, etc. The good news? Since you've just started, nobody knows you and therefore nobody reads you . Therefore, the impact is minimal. It's time to learn.

2. Quality over quantity

[Tweet «It's not about writing a lot, but about writing things that add value»]
There are many bloggers who write every day. In my opinion (purely logically, not from personal experience), it's impossible to maintain the level of quality day after day.

Writing every day has the benefit of staying in the ' top of mind ' of your readers, but the problem is whether you do it with the positioning you want (type of content and quality, and therefore type of audience), and if this is going to help you achieve your goals.
Especially at the beginning, I recommend laying the foundations of your blog with posts that deal with topics in depth. Write 4-5 posts of what we call 'depth charges', combined with shorter posts.
As time goes by, you will discover your style.
