TO REMEMBER THIS WEEK:

Big Tech attacked from within – In recent weeks, Big Tech gambling data usa has seen some of its workforce publicly oppose its practices. At Facebook, the social network's complacency towards the Indian and Israeli governments has displeased some employees . Several have even called in an open letter for the opening of an internal investigation into suspicions of censorship of pro-Palestinian content . Added to this is the thorny issue of Facebook's moderation of political content, which announced this week that it would stop giving preferential treatment to politicians' posts on its platform . On the Instagram side, internal criticism has recently focused on the social network's algorithm, accused of racist bias against Muslims. Apple is also not immune to this wave of internal conflicts made public, just like Google, which is being pressured by Democrats to improve the treatment of minorities in its management practices and tools .

Is a future without cookies possible? – Since Google announced that it wanted to abandon third-party cookies in favor of FLoC technology and its cohorts, digital professionals have been trying as best they can to prepare for it . The American giant has already announced this week that it will not create a backdoor to access Internet users' personal data, but some remain skeptical because the Californian firm will still control the said system. The e-commerce sector has started to think about a new way to collect data that is essential for the proper functioning of its business. These questions also affect the media, some of which have developed their own alternative to third-party cookies. Other websites still have to comply with current legislation on cookies before thinking about the future.

Social media is becoming partly paid – More and more platforms are considering the introduction of subscriptions and paid services, and this is not new . We were already used to paid features on networks like LinkedIn, or premium offers for music on YouTube . We will now also have to count on Twitter with its Twitter Blue service , currently only available in Canada and Australia. For $3 per month, subscribers will be entitled to exclusive features , including the highly anticipated one of previewing their tweets and editing them after publication . Other networks are also thinking about creating services of this type, like Instagram . If this were to come to fruition, we could, perhaps, witness the end of free-access social media .

Yes, the rumors are true.
Twitter Blue is now available in Australia and Canada.
