Image masking and clipping path are the most common techniques used by professional photographers. In the field of graphic design, both methods have gained a lot of popularity. Moreover, in the online industry, their demand is increasing, but have you ever wondered which is more valuable? So, to make it clear, image masking is more valuable compared to clipping path. This is because image masking covers complex areas while clipping path revolves around less complex images.

Clipping path
Adobe Photoshop, as you all know, is a powerhouse of uganda number dataset tools and features that give an attractive look to images. It can be any kind of image for which you need to apply the desired effects or filters and get the right results. One such tool that is quite famous is the pen tool which is used for cropping. It is a technique to remove the background and extract an object from an image. Depending on the requirements, the cropped image can be placed on a new background.

This technique is really useful for removing unwanted backgrounds from an image where the pen tool promises to provide accurate results. Although the results are superb, the technique is challenging for beginners as it involves erasing certain objects from the background. While placing an image on a new background, you can lose control, so be very careful during the entire process.

To apply a clipping path, you need to select the Pen Tool from the Tools palette. Before drawing the path, enlarge the work window so you can clearly see what you are going to do. After you are done clipping, copy the image and paste it on a new background if necessary.

Image masking
Another popular method of image editing is image masking. This technique is particularly important in the e-commerce industry. As with this method, layers are adjusted and attached to the background layer to hide or reveal areas of white or black. For complex images, this tool is useful as it beautifully separates complex elements from the background.

This method is used to create product catalogs or brochures because the image can be easily cut out from the background. More than cropping, image masking is used in the fashion and photography industries because the results are super accurate and awesome. Also, the images look absolutely stunning with this technique.

Open Photoshop and select the image you want to apply image masking to. Go to the layers palette and select the layer you want to make a mask on. Unlock the background layer by double clicking on it. Now you need to decide which area you want to show and once you do that it is time to apply the masking. Select a pencil or paintbrush and click on the mask mode button. It will cover the unselected areas nicely. Then select the area you need to show by going to layer>add layer mask and select revealed selection. To hide an area, select hide selection under the add layer mask option. That’s it, masking the image.

Well, no doubt both the techniques give outstanding results but image masking is really stunning when it comes to complex images. So for the online world where images matter a lot, image masking has more value and worth.
