Research confirms that the unconscious process of choice (and the desire to buy along with it) is launched at the moment when the buyer's gaze stops and lingers on the product. The person is already weighing all the pros to buy the thing he is looking at. When the gaze moves from one product to another, the comparison process begins, and most likely, one of these products will be eventually purchased. Long looking at the product most likely ends with its purchase.

3 stages of testing
All existing eye trackers can be divided into three main types. The first are stationary devices, which are a monitor that a person looks at. During testing, the system tracks pupil reactions.

The second are mobile devices that are attached to the head of the test participant. Such devices are used for research that is not conducted in laboratories, but rather at the site (for example, in a shopping center, to assess the layout of goods).

The most accurate information is provided by stationary eye trackers. They work quite simply: for this you need, in fact, the device itself and a special program for it. The monitor initially has video cameras (several) and infrared lamps built in. The rays from them, falling on the surface of the cornea, create glare. And the cameras notice these glare and record in which direction the gaze moves.

The information received is processed by a special program, which immediately determines the subject’s angle of view and provides the data in graphic form.

Therefore, the necessary devices should cell phone database be installed to carry out testing.

The procedure includes three stages:

A person participating in the study completes a series of tasks, for example, goes to a website, looks at several similar products, compares them and chooses the one that seems attractive to him.

Now let the subject calmly tell how he made his choice, what influenced it, what he paid attention to and what he didn’t, etc.

Today, the world leader in eye tracker sales is Tobii. So, its specialists believe that approximately 5-15 people can be involved in research at the same time. It is important that nothing distracts the subject during the testing process (you cannot ask anything or distract them with an action).

3 Key Eye Tracking Indicators
How many subjects looked at the area of interest ? If 13 people take part in the test and only three of them looked at the logo, then the logo is placed extremely poorly.

How much time on average passes before the respondent first fixes his gaze on one of the zones of interest . If there are, for example, five such zones, then the report will show how many seconds passed before the subject stopped his gaze on the first zone, then on the second (also - how many seconds were spent), etc. In this way, you can understand how attractive each of the zones of interest is.

How long does the gaze stay on each of the areas of interest ? That is, this indicator shows which of the areas attracts the most attention. For example, the respondent studied the first for 3 seconds, and the second for 6, etc.
