How to analyze keywords in Top 10 with Search Console and Looker Studio

Post by Abdur11 »

The goal of SEO positioning is to get the website's keywords into the top 10 positions , because these are the ones that appear on the first page of Google. So it is very important to keep track of the keywords in the top 10 , as well as the influence of changes on the website.

For this, we are going to use Google Search Console and Google Looker Studio . We could just look at Search Console, but it only shows us the first 1,000 keywords, and actually, when we look at it through Looker Studio, thousands more usually appear .

Analysis of the Top 10 Keywords with Google Search Console

As we mentioned, in Google Search Console we can see telegram filipina up to 1,000 keywords. To see how many are in the top 10, we would create a filter in the queries tab where the position is less than 11.

Once we create the filter, we scroll down to the pagination of the table and we will see the number of keywords that are in the top 10. In this case, 913 of the 1,000 terms are in the top, in other words, 91% of the keywords. However, if we analyze this from Looker Studio, we will see that there are a large number of keywords that do not appear here:

By simply creating a table in Looker Studio with the dimension Query and the metric Average Position , we can see the number of keywords that Google Search Console is not showing us. In this case, we have 8,110 keywords for which we are positioning.

After creating an average ranking filter less than 11, we see how the table goes from showing 8,110 keywords to 3,579. Because this is the number that is actually in the top 10.

Evolution of keyword positioning

The ideal goal for a website is to have as many keywords as possible in the top 10 positions, so that it appears on the first page of Google search results. To achieve this goal, we need to see how the website evolves when changes are made . So, we need a timeline graph to show us this data.

On the other hand, within those thousands of keywords we can see terms in other languages, which do not make sense for us to analyze. So, for this, we recommend looking at those keywords that have more than 10 impressions , because there will be many terms with 1 impression that do not contribute anything to the analysis.
