Tools for collecting and managing customer data include "CDP (Customer Data Platform)" and "DMP (Data Management Platform)."

Both are similar in that they are platforms for customer management data, but the content of the data they manage and how they use it differ.

CDP is a platform that focuses on "each and every customer." In addition to purchase information, it accumulates a wide range of data, including personally identifiable information such as email addresses and names, to clarify the characteristics of each individual. Since it deals with information that can lead to the identification of individuals, data collection is mainly done in-house.

On the other hand, DMPs place more importance on "segments (groups with similar purchasing trends and hobbies and preferences)" than on individuals. The aim hospital mailing address list is to clarify what segments customers can be classified into, and does not actively attempt to identify individuals. Basically, they utilize data with low personal identification, such as IP addresses and cookies, and do not collect information that can identify individuals. Because of the low personal identification, data sharing is easy, and they also utilize information collected by other companies.

CDP Features
According to the CDP Institute in the United States , CDP has three characteristics:

It is a package software
Because a CDP is not bespoke and is not a collection of other systems, it offers the following advantages:

Once installed, you can start using it right away.
Reduce costs and risks
Improved functionality and usability
Because we are constantly gathering information on the needs of companies that have already adopted the system, a certain level of technical skill is required during implementation and subsequent maintenance, but it does not require the same high level of technical skill required to build a typical data warehouse.

It is a customer data platform that integrates various data and can be used without time restrictions.
With CDP, collected data is linked to customer IDs and integrated into data for each individual customer.

To be more specific, first we collect data from the database within the organization. However, since the data cannot be used just by collecting it, we organize the large amount of data by customer.

In other words, data integration involves collecting multiple data sets, organizing them, and making them easier to use.
