Let's start with a very general distinction between what types of ads are Google ads and what types are Facebook ads.

Some time ago, for the purposes of one of the books I wrote, I distinguished the following advertising systems:

search based advertising,
interest-based advertising.
And although both of these systems are somewhat mixed. In a simplified way, we can assume that Google advertising is precisely advertising based on searches, and Facebook advertising is advertising based on interests.
