What is the General Data Protection Law (LGPD)
Sanctioned in August 2018 and in force since 2021, the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) was inspired by the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation and, according to the Federal Government itself:
“It provides for the processing of personal data, including in digital media, by a natural person or by a legal entity under public or private law, with the aim of protecting the fundamental rights of freedom and privacy and the free development of the natural person's personality ”.
In practice, the law establishes rules, which must be followed by people and/or companies, regarding data collected from users, its use, collection, storage and sharing.
The main objective is to ensure greater security, privacy and transparency in the use of personal information , which causes significant impacts on the legal, administrative and information security areas of companies.

As stated in Law 13,709/2008 itself , the processing of this data is also by a natural person, that is, you, even if you do not have a company or are part of one, also fall within this scope if you have with you data of other people, whatever they may be.
