Assassin's Creed Mirage Benchmark Results

In Cyberpunk 2077, PCIe 5.0 delivered exactly the same performance as PCIe 4.0, not a single frame per second more or less. And this was true for both resolutions I used: 4K and 1440p. In other words, PCIe 5.0’s faster data transfer rate doesn’t impact performance in this game, especially when you consider other potential bottlenecks like the GPU.

In the next game test I ran, Remnant II , using finland telegram data a PCIe 5.0 SSD yielded a small boost in average frame rates over the PCIe 4.0 cap. At 4K, it was over 1.9%, while at 1440p it was just 1%. However, the improvement is so small that it’s within the margin of error. Even with the higher transfer speeds of PCIe 5.0, the gain is not noticeable.

Similarly, in Horizon Forbidden West, there was no difference in FPS between PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 with the CORSAIR MP700 PRO SSD at 4K or 1440p resolutions. The game appears to be completely limited by other hardware, such as the graphics card and CPU, rather than the storage interface.
