In terms of industry sectors, except for utilities, technology and semiconductors which closed down 1.16%, 0.71% and 0.31% respectively, the other eight major S&P sectors all closed higher: materials, energy, healthcare, real estate, industry, finance, daily consumer goods and communications closed up 2.23%, 2.1%, 1.3%, 1.28%, 1.17%, 0.72%, 0.17% and 0.04% respectively.
In terms of concept sectors, the aviation ETF fell 2.25%, the travel services sector fell 0.12%, the high-end hotel Marriott rose 0.57%, Airbnb fell 0.6%, and Norwegian Cruise Line fell 0.62%. The solar energy sector fell 1.74%. , PayPal closed up 0.76% and NU rose 1.19%. The cybersecurity sector fell 1.23%, and SQ fell 0.64%.
Chinese stocks were mixed, with KWEB rising 0.66%. TSMC belgium telegram data fell 3.36%, Alibaba rose 0.01%, Pinduoduo rose 1.37%, JD rose 0.88%, Li Auto fell 2.34%, Xpeng fell 3.36%, Futu fell 0.37%, NIO fell 2.64%, Miniso fell 6.02%, Zeekr fell 2.27%, and EH fell 2.62%.
Most large technology stocks closed lower. Apple closed down 1.03% and Nvidia fell 1.97%. According to foreign media: Nvidia's Blackwell chip server racks had overheating problems and major customers cut orders. Microsoft fell 0.42%, Google fell 0.46%, Amazon fell 0.22%, Meta fell 1.22%, Tesla rose 2.17%, Broadcom rose 0.44%, Eli Lilly fell 0.3%, Walmart fell 1.58%, PLTR fell 3.39%, APP fell 0.88%, and AXON fell 0.23%.
