Understanding the best way to leverage the data warehouse can greatly help all types of businesses. The best way to see it, however, is by studying a success story , in this case applied to the education sector. We are talking about how a leading university in Latin America found itself in a situation in which it needed the services of PowerData and its technology.

The situation before work
After understanding how information boosts any type of business, the university managers saw that they had certain shortcomings in terms of information management . They needed to satisfy two things. The first was to be able to maintain an adequate flow of information contact with their students, once they had graduated and left the university. The second was to viber database a unified information center in which absolutely all of their students' data was stored. The objective was common in both points: to support the student both now and later in their career and to offer them new proposals that could boost the performance of the business and the development of the student.

What was the situation?
The university worked with Microsoft Dynamics as CRM, so it was a good starting point from which to begin. The work would consist of carrying out several processes, from the integration of the aforementioned CRM with other types of tools that would meet the needs of the university to shaping that unique vision that would represent each of the students. And of course, to solve the problem of polishing the marketing initiatives, a series of result metrics and KPIs would have to be defined that would allow the entity to get the most out of all its initiatives.

Doing this would have the effect of making a significant improvement to the university, which had already suffered from poor data management. On the one hand, there was data duplication, incorrect details about students, and information that was generally of poor quality. Not only did all this data have these errors, but it was also scattered across different applications, making it difficult to keep track of it all in parallel. On the other hand, there had also been some unsuccessful attempts at application integration, so there was already a slightly chaotic pre-existing foundation that made the process of bringing order to the data warehouse a little more complicated.

What solution was provided?
PowerData's work was a challenging but not impossible task. To meet the client's needs, a combination of Informática's Data Quality and PowerCenter was proposed, whose combined work would yield a good result according to estimates. Initially, the challenge was to carry out two tasks. The first of them was to build the DataWarehouse that would serve to correctly store the KPIs. This would be a crucial aspect that would mark the good direction of the entire subsequent process. In addition, the integration of the existing Microsoft CRM with PowerCenter was carried out .
