Gantt Chart Tools

There are a great many Gantt chart programs on the market today. They may differ in interface, complexity of control and number of possible functions.

How to create a Gantt chart in Excel? The creation procedure is the same for any version of the tool:
First, enter the required project information.
Next, add a line chart with a summary to your document.
Finally, make settings to display information on the created chart.
Unfortunately, Excel does not uses of twitter have a template for creating Gantt charts. Therefore, creating a chart is awkward but intuitive. Excel also makes it difficult to collaborate on charts.

Then select the range with values (you don't need to select the column names) and launch the Chart Wizard using the corresponding icon or via the Insert → Chart menu .

Select the line chart with summation. You will get a chart with the opposite order of tasks.
To flip the vertical axis, click on it and select Format Axis… . Then, on the Scaling tab, click Reverse .
In the Numbers tab, find the date format you want. Then, in the Scaling tab, uncheck the Automatic boxes for Maximum , Minimum, and Primary Range .
In the fields that appear, enter the values:
Minimum - start date of the first task.
Maximum – the period when the last activity was completed.
Basic interval. If the tasks are short-term, you need a short period to see the exact start and end dates on the chart. And if each activity and the project itself are long-term, then it is better to choose a longer interval so that the schedule does not stretch too much.
For easier reading, set Text Orientation to 90 degrees Y-axis in the Caption tab of the options.
If you want to display only the duration data, right-click on the color of the unwanted rows and select Format Data Series . In the Areas tab, select None from the drop-down menu . The result is a simple Gantt chart.
Google Sheets
A more convenient alternative to Excel for creating group charts is Google Sheets. This tool allows you to create a Gantt chart in a less intuitive way, but faster than the aforementioned Excel.
