Your connections get more out of your content when other people engage with the topic. Everyone knows that the wealth is in sharing information, so take it easy and ask!
Always reply to every comment . This increases the chances of your original post being seen by your followers algorithmically. The more engagement and conversations your posts get, the better!
Speaking of comments, don't be afraid to be the first to add one to your own posts, especially when you ask a question! If you need to do so, don't be shy.
Ask questions. The shorter the answer people have to give, the better. Think of “yes or no” type questions, or questions where people don’t have to think too hard about the answer… The flight attendant “chicken or lasagna” is the perfect example. No fuss at all!
Write a provocative comment or contradictory statement to incite people's reaction. It can be fun, but you should also be prepared for bullies and haters!
Post videos with subtitles , as these generate great engagement. Inserting subtitles or creating controlling directors email lists an SRT file in your video makes more people engage with your content.
Comment on other people's posts . A good practice is to try to interact with 3-5 other people's posts every time you post. There's no room for selfishness here; get used to giving in order to receive as well!
Add as many relevant people as possible, even if you don’t know them in person . Limit your connection requests to two or three per week: contacts you can reach out to in the future for recruiting efforts, ideal clients, and anyone else in any type of business who can generate referrals.
Make sure your photo is focused on the foreground, that you're smiling, and that the background isn't cluttered. You can test this out at Photofeeler , a website that allows its users to receive anonymous feedback on their photos from other users. In your photo, smile with your teeth showing, wear a dark-colored suit or light-colored button-down shirt if you're a man, and don't wear anything that obstructs your face.
Optimize your posts so that the opening text grabs people's attention and they decide to view more of your post.
Optimize your brand cover photo to add your company's value proposition and trust factors.
Use the Insights Tag to find out who your visitors are. This is a pixel or JavaScript code that allows you to track visitors to your profile. Check it regularly to know which companies you should connect with.
Join a LinkedIn group and get everyone in your company involved as well, this will make the platform's algorithm work in your favor.
If you have great references and wonderful contacts in your network, ask them to participate in your or your company's publications. It's not a lot to ask, but, even better, it works!
Identify 10-15 hashtags that make sense in your industry or niche and use them regularly . In the end, use three hashtags that relate to the topic of your post.
Accept all connection requests you receive , unless they are obvious scams. If new contacts engage with your content, it will strengthen your algorithmic presence.
Create roundups and tag people who contributed . Find 10 people who are very active in your niche and who promote content on LinkedIn, and ask them for their opinion. Work on original content, with relevant data that involves your connections, this will broaden your reach and make you an expert on the topic. You will make less content but it will be better because it will provide value.
Participate in other people's content. Accept each video, podcast, roundup, or event invitation to be featured in LinkedIn links in your region.
If you're going to do it, go all in! When you make a commitment to a social channel, you should aim to be the best at that channel. If it's not LinkedIn , don't put too much effort into it because you're not going to get as much value out of it. But, if you've determined who your ideal clients, referral partners, and potential teammates are on LinkedIn, now is the best time to jump right in!
Don't be shy about asking for comments on your post
