Data portability is a factor that not many business owners consider when choosing a platform for their website. This refers to how easily the platform makes it possible to export and import your content and other data.
WordPress – Data Portability
If you host your website on an open source platform like WordPress, you can easily export your data in many formats. You can export your WordPress website as an XML file, export your database, or download your files and content.
You can also easily migrate your WordPress website to any other platform you like. This freedom gives you full control over your website, and this control makes many website owners feel good.
Weebly – Data Portability
Weebly, on the other hand, allows you to download your website as a zip file, but it only contains your HTML pages and images.
If you have a blog, it won't export. If you have list of benin cell phone number slideshows or other features, they wouldn't work on the exported site. Basically, it's very difficult to move a site away from Weebly.
After thoroughly reviewing both options, we think Weebly looks good on the outside and can be suitable for small websites.
Still, it's not the ideal solution for creating a blog or running an online store. The shiny design builder may look attractive, but all that glitters is not gold.
On the other hand, WordPress offers more tools, freedom and flexibility. All of these things allow you to create a website the way you want.
Plus, WordPress offers more features and options. Not to mention, all of your content is yours since you're not dependent on another company that could shut down your site.
You only pay the payment processing fees that you have to pay on any platform
